Policy of Sustainability at LSV

Sustainability – on the way to green steel

We view sustainability as the guiding principle of ecological, economic and social balance. Thus we are well aware of the paradox between environmental protection and economic activity. As a company in the steel industry, we meet the resulting obligations. Our steel is made from recycled and reprocessed scrap. Our parent company uses electric arc furnaces with low CO2 emissions for steel production. Thus we have already come a long way on the road to green steel. Our group of companies represents the entire steel industry value chain. This forms the basis for lasting resource and energy efficiency.

Our company policy – the future begins with steel

We take responsibility:
For outstanding quality, sustainable environmental protection and socially responsible work conditions. Because the future begins with steel!

Resources beyond the applicable legal requirements are provided for the ongoing improvement of quality, environmental protection and minimising energy consumption. Our goal is to realise economic and ecological synergies through efficient business operations. For the first time, a sustainability report for the 2021 business year was prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The sustainability report can be found in the download area of this website.

The organisation’s quality claim is supported by a process-controlled mode of operation. Customer satisfaction and the transparency of workflows make a key strategic contribution to the company’s overall image. Our strategic and operational goals support this.

LSV Lech-Stahl Veredelung views environmental protection as an essential element of corporate governance and ensures that this is implemented through concrete targets and rules of conduct.

The purchase of operating materials, equipment and raw materials is based on environmental criteria and economic aspects.

Energy and resource consumption is recorded and evaluated on a continuing basis. With this activities to improve energy efficiency and environmental protection are implemented continuously. Performance figures document the effectiveness of the management systems.

In case of an accident or incident with expected energy or environmental effects, the applicable measures according to the emergency plan take effect. The impact on nature is kept to a minimum.

We are committed to the continuous improvement of our integrated management system under consideration of resource consumption and the quality of our products.

The binding commitments of the organisation’s internal and external stakeholders are met in all processes. Our activities extend beyond that to the extent of our economic capabilities.

LSV Lech-Stahl Veredelung builds awareness of quality, energy and the environment through regular employee training and promotes corresponding behaviours.

We intend to offer our employees a safe, responsible workplace that provides job satisfaction and fulfilment. We jointly make our best efforts to provide healthy and safe work conditions in our company.

We take part in the Bavarian Environmental Pact (Umweltpakt Bayern) “Strengthening the environment and economy together”. You will find the certificate from the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection under downloads.
