Scrap as a raw material for new steel

The production of steel involves a considerable use of energy and raw materials. That is why the responsible use of resources and the continuous improvement of our processes are key priorities for our group of companies.

Our steel is produced from recycled and processed scrap. Steel production at our parent company takes place in an electric arc furnace.

Within the group, we cover the entire steel-related value chain, from steel production through to further processing. This integrated structure enables us to coordinate processes along the value chain and identify opportunities for the efficient use of resources and energy.

We monitor and evaluate our energy and resource consumption and use this information to identify measures to improve our processes. The aim is to achieve economic and environmental synergies through efficient business operations.

LSV Lech-Stahl Veredelung regards environmental protection as an essential component of corporate management and ensures that this is translated into specific targets and codes of conduct. In our procurement activities, we take both economic and environmental factors into account.

Energy and resource consumption is continuously recorded and analysed. As part of this process, measures to improve energy efficiency and environmental protection are implemented on an ongoing basis. Key performance indicators demonstrate the effectiveness of the management systems.

Should an accident or incident occur that could potentially have energy or environmental impacts, the appropriate measures set out in the emergency plan must be taken. Impacts on the natural environment are then kept to a minimum wherever possible.

We are committed to the continuous improvement of our integrated management system, taking into account resource consumption and the quality of our products.

The binding obligations of all internal and external stakeholders of the organisation are adhered to in all processes. We also take further action, taking economic feasibility into account.
